Employer Accreditation

Standard & High-Volume Accreditation

Accreditation is the first gate for Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) if a New Zealand employer wants to hire migrant workers.  To be approved for accreditation, employers must demonstrate that their business is viable, as well as meets the relevant employment and immigration regulations. Standard Accreditation allows an employer to hire up to 5 migrant workers at any one time; whilst High-Volume Accreditation allows an employer to hire 6 or more migrant workers at any one time. In terms of the level of compliance, there is not much difference between Standard Accreditation and High-Volume Accreditation.

Franchisee Employer Accreditation

There are higher requirements for franchisee accredited employers. Although there is no limit to migrant workers an accredited employer can hire, the employer must demonstrate at least 12 months of trading history as a franchisee or 12 months of business trading history in another business. If the franchisee employer hires more than one staff, then at least 15% of the NZer staff must be guaranteed full-time employment.

Accreditation for Triangular Employers

For employers who place their migrant workers with other controlling third parties, then you must have a history of placing staff in New Zealand for the past 12 months and at least 15% of them must be New Zealand citizens or residents with a guaranteed at least 30 hours of work each week. Accredited employers should only place migrant workers in other compliant businesses, they must also monitor the work conditions such as the health and safety of staff being placed with other businesses.
